The main location of the ZHS is the historic sports facilities in the Olympic Park, which were built for the 1972 Olympics. On 45 hectares there are 11 sports halls, 15 football pitches, an indoor and outdoor climbing and bouldering facility, a beach and tennis facility with 13 beach volleyball and 21 tennis courts. Outside these sports facilities, the training pool of the Olympic swimming hall and the water sports field at Lake Starnberg (sailing, surfing) are available for exclusive use, as well as the Olympic regatta facility (canoeing, rowing) in Oberschleißheim for partial use and, of course, the Bavarian Alps (mountain sports, winter sports) - a special location advantage of Munich. In Freising and Landshut, the Central University Sports Office also has practice facilities available for local sports activities.
